BANDING TOGETHER
FUTURE
Education is a key focal point in the future of the Sanctuary. With the creation of our Jack Miner Learning Centre and the development of our K-12 curriculum-based outdoor education programs, we are focusing our future on teaching younger generations about the environment and their responsibility to protect and conserve it. Since launching these new programs in May 2023, over 2,500 students have visited the Sanctuary and participated in our hands-on programs, which were designed to inspire wonder and engage learning, while meeting provincial curriculum standards.
A unique one-of-a-kind natural outdoor playground will open in 2024. It will have play structures made of natural and reclaimed materials that will encourage outdoor play; experiencing nature and its wonder, just as Jack did.
