Learning Centre

The Jack Miner Learning Centre is a space that provides young children with opportunities to understand nature through experiential learning: use of hands-on manipulatives, games, and crafts. As young visitors explore a range of topics including nature’s weavers, migration paths, ecosystems, animal homes, animal tracks, and protective colourization, they can freely participate in activities such as nest-weaving, shelter construction, colouring, and animal track creation. This learning environment is meant to inspire wonder and promote the conservationist legacy of Jack Miner. 

The Jack Miner Learning Centre is located on the sanctuary grounds in the clubhouse (behind the historical house). Please see bottom of page for current hours of operation.

Adult supervision is required.

We are proud to announce that with the generous support of $17,500 from Farm Credit Canada (FCC), we’ve completed heating and cooling improvements to our Jack Miner Learning Centre. These necessary upgrades enable us to keep this space open throughout the winter months! The Jack Miner Learning Centre has been open to the public free-of-charge since Fall 2022, serving as a source of inspiration for visitors of all ages to learn about nature through experiential learning activities. Come and visit it every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 10AM – 3PM.
